If the Grizzlies were to accept Hachimura and the 17th pick & other compensation the Lakers would take Smart over Lopez. Lopez is making way more than Smart and Hachimura are so those contracts don't add up but Hachimura and Smart does add up. Smart is a player the Lakers need. An perimeter defender. Lakers can add a center through Free agency.

Lakers aren't going to do that. If the Lakers took on Beal's contract they would basically be in the same situation as the Phoenix Suns are in now. Have no room to make trades and will rely on players to accept minimum contracts.

The Lakers should move on:
Ham needs to go- he knows nothing about coaching
I gave DLo a chance but he ultimately failed. No heart, no desire from that kid. He just play to play.
Hachimura & Reaves are so so role players. One needs to go, or both if they can get better fits.
There are 2 directions, one is to try and compete one more time with Bron and AD or make a complete shake up. Trade AD for assets if they want a rebuild. If they want to keep, go back to what makes them a winner in 2020. Defense, big line up.

If the Lakers beat the Pelicans in the play-in, they will be crushed by the Nuggets in 1st round. If they lose, will get smashed by Kings or Warriors in play-in round 2. ??♂️

Rob Pelinka will come up with someone. The Lakers can still bring back Mo Bamba at a lower price or Mason Plumlee . Limited amount of centers on the market to begin with.

We are tanking and playing horrendous defense , no need for rim protection anymore. Assets are what we need.
