Lakers are not trading a 2027 first round unprotected pick for a free agent to be in Turner. Pacers are actually good. They are making the playoffs. This Lakers team is not probably not getting into the play in tournament. So I am unsure why you think trading valuable picks would help for this season.

Please view that new rotation you just made. This is just for discussion not argument. Do you really see a playoff team in February with that new roster? I don't. Myles Turner on a Lakers team with Lebron James and AD will get less touches than he's getting as a Pacer.

Four-Team Blockbuster

Lakers receive: DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic, Aaron Holiday, Justin Holiday

Bulls receive: John Collins, Onyeka Okongwu, Landry Shamet, '27 unprotected 1st (via LAL), '23 unprotected 2nd (via LAL), '23 unprotected 2nd (from LAL, via CHI)

Hawks receive: Russell Westbrook, Jae Crowder, Austin Reaves, '23 unprotected 1st (via PHX), '29 unprotected 1st (via LAL)

Suns receive: Lonnie Walker, Bogdan Bogdanovic

*Lakers do this move in conjunction to trading Pat Bev, Kendrick Nunn, & Max Christie for Cam Reddish and Evan Fournier's contract.

- Lakers: Trade basically everything they have to their disposal but get a championship caliber roster that can compete this season.

PG Dennis Schroder / Aaron Holiday
SG DeMar DeRozan / Evan Fournier
SF LeBron James / Cam Reddish
PF Anthony Davis / Wenyen Gabriel
C Nikola Vucevic / Thomas Bryant

- Bulls: Trade their best player and soon to be free agent center for a younger, more athletic team that doesn't want to go the rebuild route.

PG Lonzo Ball / Ayo Dosumnu
SG Zach LaVine / Alex Caruso
SF Patrick Williams / Javonte Green
PF John Collins / Derrick Jones Jr.
C Onyeka Okongwu / Andre Drummond

-Hawks: John Collins would be swapped for spacing, Okongwu would be moved for draft assets instead of being buried behind Capela, and more mins open for Griffin and Johnson.

Hawks
PG Trae Young / Russell Westbrook
SG Dejounte Murray / Austin Reaves
SF DeAndre Hunter / AJ Griffin
PF Jae Crowder / Jalen Johnson
C Clint Capela / Frank Kaminsky

- Suns: Suns add more fire power to the bench in a year where they need to solidify everything from A-Z, as they are contending.

Suns
PG Chris Paul / Cam Payne
SG Devin Booker / Lonnie Walker
SF Mikal Bridges / Bogdan Bogdanovic
PF Cam Johnson / Torrey Craig
C DeAndre Ayton / Jock Landale

I heard about the inside talk the Lakers had about those 2. That isn't a championship caliber roster. Yes DeRozan and Vucevic are good players but keep in mind with Lebron James and Anthony Davis on the roster the amount of touches would decline for both DeRozan and Vucevic on the Lakers.

Lakers would be making a big mistake trading 2027 and 2029 first round picks for players that will not be on the roster in 2026. Lakers are nowhere near a championship. All it takes is 1 Lebron or AD injury and the Lakers season is over.

Lakers get:
* Kyrie Irving
* Myles Turner
* Gordon Hayward

Nets get:
* Buddy Hield
* Terry Rozier III
* Damian Jones

Pacers get:
* Joe Harris
* Patrick Beverley
* Juan Tuscano-Anderson
*'27 unprotected 1st (via LAL)
*'29 unprotected 1st (via LAL)

Hornets get:
* Russell Westbrook
* Kendrick Nunn
* '23 unprotected 1st (from IND, via BOS)
* '23 unprotected 2nd (via LAL)
* '25 unprotected 2nd (via BKN)

Lakers trade valuable picks but get a championship lineup of Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Myles Turner with Lonnie Walker IV leading the bench unit. Nets trade Kyrie's expiring contract along with Joe Harris, for two guys in Rozier and Hield who are controllable replacements that come with less baggage and less drama then Kyrie Irving. Pacers move Hield and Turner for the two cherished Lakers picks, boosting their rebuild. Hornets move the large salaries of Hayward and Rozier for the expirings of Westbrook and Nunn and get compensated for doing so with draft assets.

Three-Team Trade

Lakers receive:
* Kyrie Irving
* Bojan Bogdanovic
* Nerlens Noel
* Alec Burks

Pistons receive:
* Russell Westbrook
* Kessler Edwards
* '27 top-10 protected 1st (via LAL)
* '23 unprotected 2nd (via LAL)
* '23 unprotected 2nd (from LAL, via CHI)

Nets receive:
* Patrick Beverley
* Kendrick Nunn
* 2029 unprotected 1st (via LAL)

Lakers get a more adequate third star as well as supplementary pieces to help them compete this season. Kyrie and Bojan would start alongside LeBron, AD, and Reaves. Lonnie Walker would get to move to a more natural 6th man role and their bench would be much deeper. Pistons would get to embrace their tank with more draft assets, and potentially a new starting backcourt partner for Ivey in Russ as Cade may miss the year. The Nets front office simply put want to get rid of any further Kyrie drama and will likely let him walk in free agency this summer so in turn they get what could be a very valuable draft pick and save about $40M off their luxury tax bill for this season. Beverley and Nunn could play for Brooklyn or could be flipped along with other players/assets to acquire a big man in the pay range (I.e. Turner, Vooch, Capela).

Lakers and Pistons are over the salary cap so the salary must match for the Nets which it doesn't in this trade. The only 2 teams who can take on salary are the Spurs and Pacers. Neither will help the Lakers unless they get 2 first round picks in return. Which neither have players who will make the Lakers a championship contending this season.

Beverley and Nunn would get other players but no assets. If the Lakers are below .500 by the trade deadline and the Lakers can't get expiring contracts in return those 2 will probably get waived. You have Irving going out and a 2029 Lakers first coming in? Yeah not happening. Irving around the league has a very low market value. If it is going to cost the Lakers all those picks to get Irving this season might as well wait until he is a free agent this coming offseason.

SG Buddy Hield / Lonnie Walker IV / Max Christie
SF LeBron James / Cam Reddish / Troy Brown Jr.
