Bogdanovic signed an extension already so that would take the Lakers out of the running for any quality free agent this coming off season. Which the Lakers want to be in on free agents. Lakers aren't trading a 2027 first round pick on a role player. Pistons gave up very little to get him.

Lakers/Jazz/Hornets/Knicks

Lakers get:
* Terry Rozier ($21.4M, 4 yrs)
* Bojan Bogdanovic ($19.5M, 1 yr)
* Evan Fournier ($18.0M,3 yrs;club option Y3)
* Rudy Gay ($6.1M, 2 yrs)

Jazz get:
* Derrick Rose ($14.5M, 2 yrs; club option Y2)
* 2023 unprotected 2nd (CHA, via UTA)
* 2027 unprotected 1st (via LAL)

Hornets get:
* Malik Beasley ($15.5M,2 yrs;club option Y2)
* Cameron Reddish ($5.9M, 1 yr)
* Kendrick Nunn ($5.2M, 1 yr)

Knicks get:
* Russell Westbrook ($47.0M, 1 yr)
* 2023 unprotected 2nd (LAL, via CHI)
* 2029 unprotected 1st (via LAL)

Lakers trade the picks with Westbrook and they acquire a more complimentary point guard, as well as two lethal shooters. Jazz get another first round pick for Bogdanovic to add to their stockpile of picks collected this summer. Hornets prioritize cap flexibility and trade Rozier, who has four years remaining on his contract, for three young rotational pieces all on expiring contracts. Knicks acquire a very valuable first round pick for their rebuild, while getting off of Fournier's guaranteed two years, opening up the necessary playing time for Quentin Grimes.

4-Team Trade

LA Lakers get: Malik Beasley, Cam Reddish, Dario Saric, Torrey Craig

Utah Jazz get: Russell Westbrook, Jock Landale, 2023 unprotected 1st (PHX), 2025 unprotected 2nd (LAL), 2027 unprotected 1st (LAL)

NY Knicks get: Bojan Bogdanovic, Landry Shamet

Phoenix Suns get: Julius Randle, Rudy Gay

Analysis:
Lakers get four expiring contracts back for Westbrook, keeping flexibility for next summer's FA and only 1 of the future firsts are traded. Two of those guys (Beasley, Reddish) would be part of the rotation and are guys LA is interested in. Jazz get picks back for their vets and avoid taking on future long term salary in the process, as Russ could be waived. Knicks get someone they like in Bogdanovic while also using Cam Reddish to dump Randle's long-term money, opening up playing time for Obi Toppin. Suns buy extremely low on 2021 ALL-NBAer Julius Randle by only trading a potential late first round pick and four non-rotation pieces.

Lakers
PG Beverley / Nunn / Reaves
SG Beasley / Walker / Christie
SF James / Reddish / Brown Jr.
PF Davis / Tuscano / Craig
C Jones / Bryant / Saric

Jazz
PG Conley / Clarkson / Butler
SG Sexton / Alexander-Walker / Bolmaro
SF Horton-Tucker / Agbaji / Johnson
PF Markkanen / Vanderbilt / Fontecchio
C Azubuike / Kessler / Landale

Knicks

Nobody wants Julius Randle's contract. He is owed too much money and for the Knicks to "dump" him it will cost the Knicks 2 first round picks. Nice try though Knicks fan. Suns are over the cap and would have no cap flexibility for years to come adding Randle.

I just don't see the Lakers trading picks to dump Westbrook in order to get those players. Lakers will probably get Reddish in the future but as a free agent.

Knicks-Jazz-Lakers Three Team Blockbuster

New York Knicks receive: G Donovan Mitchell, F Rudy Gay

Utah Jazz receive: G Russell Westbrook (with intentions of buyout), F Evan Fournier, G Immanuel Quickley, F Cam Reddish, 2023 & 2025 unprotected first round picks (via NYK), 2027 & 2029 unprotected first round picks (via LAL), 2023 lottery protected first round pick (from NYK, via WAS), 2023 top-16 protected first round pick (from NYK, via DET)

Los Angeles Lakers receive: F Julius Randle, F Bojan Bogdanovic, G Jordan Clarkson

Analysis:
Probably the best possible deal for all teams involved. The Knicks don't want to move Grimes, are open to trading Obi but would rather find a home for Randle, & would like to hold onto D-Rose for his leadership and his connection to Thibs/Brunson. They accomplish all of that here trading four first round picks, but only two of them being unprotected. The Jazz and Danny Ainge would have to convince to their fanbase there is a better offer out there for Mitchell than Quickley, Reddish, and six first round picks (four unprotected) if they don't take this trade, so they'd likely accept. The Lakers would get rid of Westbrook with draft compensation, but acquire three high quality rotation guys in Randle, Bogdanovic, & Clarkson to help them contend this season.

Knicks
PG Brunson / Rose
SG Mitchell / Grimes
SF Barrett / Gay
PF Toppin / Hartenstein
C Robinson / Sims

Jazz
PG Conley / Quickley
SG Beverley / Beasley
SF Fournier / Reddish
PF Vanderbilt / Fontecchio
C Kessler / Azubuike

Lakers
PG Nunn / Clarkson
SG Horton-Tucker / Walker
SF James / Bogdanovic
