Trade #2 pick and Julius Randle for Demarcus Cousins
(on draft night)

Sign Hassan Whiteside
(get lucky and sign him early in FA)

(use Cousins and Whiteside to make pitch to Durant)
Sign Kevin Durant

Sign Kent Bazemore OR Courtney Lee
(use star power and chance to contend to sign one of these guys for less money)

PG - Russel - Lou Williams
SG - Bazemore OR Lee - Clarkson
SF - Durant - Brown OR Young
PF - Cousins - Nance Jr.
C - Whiteside - Cousins - Black

(salary cap continues to go up next summer which allows Lakers to fine tune a contending team)

We can't get to much stars. Look what happen when we got Howard and Nash. Cousins and Durant both need the ball In their hand to be affective on the floor. Cause both aren't defensive players.

So both Kobe and Shaq didn't both need the ball in their hands? They won 3 titles together. Lakers have always been built on going after multiple star players. I wouldn't compare Howard and Nash to Durant and Cousins. Neither is 37 with back problems and Howard hasn't been a star since he had back surgery and played in Van Gundy's P&R system in Orlando.

Lakers fan 4 life,

As if your misuse of "to" and "affective" weren't enough to dispel your case, please understand Cousins played with Rondo last year who is a very hands on/ball dominant point guard, along with Rudy Gay who is another ball dominant player at times. Cousins still managed to play his game and make an all star team. Secondly, just because a player does not play defense does not mean that said player is ball dominant. Terribly flawed logic for a basketball fan. Jordan Clarkson, D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle are players of our own who do not defend and I wouldn't call them ball dominant players. They were in a poor offensive system but not ball dominant.
