Lakers - Knicks Trade

Lakers trade Clarkson, Randle, No. 2 pick, No. 27, and No. 28 to the Knicks for Porzingis and Courtney Lee.

LA - DEN TRADE

Lakers get Jamal Murray, #13 pick in the 2017 NBA DRAFT, and 2018 First round Nuggets pick

Denver gets #2 pick in the 2017 NBA DRAFT and Luol Deng.

The Lakers should trade the #2 pick to Denver for Jamal Murray

hahaha.

2.) 09 Jun 2017 23:37:23
What is wrong with Jamal Murray?

3.) 09 Jun 2017 23:50:18
That sounds more like a Nuggets fan than a Laker fan.

4.) 10 Jun 2017 02:59:16
Lakesshow87- There is nothing wrong with Jamal Murray as a player however your wanting to trade the #2 pick for Murray. There is more value making the selection than to trade it for Murray. Also if the Lakers were to trade it there better be an allstar player coming in return. Your undervaluing the #2 pick which is why people don't agree with you.

5.) 10 Jun 2017 03:21:51
regardless of how good the draft class is, murray for the 2nd pick straight up is just dumb.

6.) 10 Jun 2017 07:03:54
I disagree because I think people are overvaluing this draft class at the top outside of Fultz. Ball is overrated. If we are being honest with ourselves the Lakers aren't about to trade and get an All-Star for the #2 pick when they are trying to save cap space for next summer. Why not get Murray who by the way fits perfectly in Luke's system? Murray is also on his rookie contract. If Jamal Murray was in this draft he would be the second best player.

7.) 10 Jun 2017 07:07:15
I'm actually a die hard Lakers fan. Jamal Murray is the player the Lakers need if they want to play like Golden St.

8.) 10 Jun 2017 07:08:12
Just watch the Nuggets tape on Jamal Murray and you will see how special he is and will be.

9.) 10 Jun 2017 15:52:05
Well if you think draft is overrated then you don't know anything about the players coming out. The first 5 players will be decent players. Maybe an allstar. The next next 5 (6-10th picks) have potential. Murray does 1 thing and that is shoot outside shots. The Lakers can sign players like him during free agency. Lakers need a point guard. A guy who can pass the ball. Lakers have Russell and Clarkson that can shoot from the outside. Now the Lakers will get an allstar in 2018 free agency maybe even 2. So the shots Murray will get will decline like Nick Young's did under Byron Scott.

10.) 10 Jun 2017 21:04:56
Jamlal Murray can shoot and pass the ball. The way Jamal Murray moves without the ball is like Stephen Curry.

11.) 10 Jun 2017 21:07:36
What type of point guards are playing in the NBA Finals right now? Curry and Kyrie! Are any of them pass first point guards? The point guards in the modern NBA can shoot first and have the ability to playmake for others.

12.) 10 Jun 2017 21:18:30
I know a lot about this draft class actually. Outside of Fultz, I bet you Jamal Murray will be an All-Star before anyone drafted in the lottery in this year's draft.

13.) 10 Jun 2017 21:23:35
The 2016 draft class had better talent at the top than this year's class. The 2016 class had players like Ben Simmons, Ingram, Jaylen Brown, Buddy Hield, Jamal Murray, Marquese Chriss, Skal, Dejounte Murray, Zubac, Brogdon, etc.

14.) 11 Jun 2017 00:26:27
Your comparing Jamal Murray to Stephen Curry and Kyrie Irving? Murray will never be either one of those guys. As far as draft classes 2016 draft so far has been one of the worst in years. Simmons hasn't even played yet. The best player this season in the draft was Brogdon. Maybe in the years to come we will see some development and the draft will look overall better but honestly it wasn't impressive after one season. This draft in 2017 is deep. Murray doesn't come close to the talent Lonzo Ball, Josh Jackson, DeAaron Fox, or Jayson Tatum. Let alone like you said Fultz. I think Smith will be better than Murray. You may ask what type of player do I think Jamal Murray will be. Nick Young type player without the antics. Good role player might get to 15 points a game but that's it.

15.) 11 Jun 2017 22:52:42
You comparing Jamal Murray to Nick Young proves you don't know anything about basketball. Jamal Murray is and will be better than Lonzo Ball, Josh Jackson, De'Aaron Fox, Jayson Tatum, Lauri Markannen, etc. Jamal Murray has Stephen Curry potential. I bet you Jamal Murray will be a superstar in the NBA. Murray can do way more than shoot.

16.) 11 Jun 2017 22:53:22
It's hilarious that you said Clarkson and Russell are good shooters. Jamal Murray shoots better than both of them.

17.) 11 Jun 2017 22:54:26
Jamal Murray as a point guard is the perfect fit in Luke Walton's offense.

18.) 12 Jun 2017 14:35:02
Jamal Murray is an outside shooter that relies on a PG to set him up for 3 pointers. That's the same game as Nick Young. That's who he is. Nobody here agrees with you on Murray. For my final comment on this matter I think Murray will be a good player. Not an allstar. Nothing near a Stephen Curry. Will be a decent 3 point shooter. Not what the Lakers need at this moment. I am not hilarious thinking Clarkson and Russell are good shooters cause they are. They had better numbers than Murray. Your hilarious thinking Murray a player that does 1 thing shoot 3 pointers is worth a #2 pick. Your on Jamal Murray island all by yourself and I guarantee in 5 years you will look back and say that Citydude guy was right.

What are your thoughts on Lonzo Ball potentially being drafted by the Lakers? Do you think his game will translate to the NBA? Do you think he will be an All-Star, Superstar, Role player, or Bust? Would you trade the #2 pick for a different point guard? Would you select a different point guard/ player in the NBA DRAFT?

The Lakers don't need to give up Ingram and Zubac for Paul George. Indiana has no leverage. Paul George is going to be a Laker no matter what whether that is this summer or next summer. There are numerous reports that if he goes to another team than they are just renting him for one year.

Yes, I would pass on LeBron James as a free agent. He has been to 8 NBA Finals, played in 3 Olympics, and it would be like his 15th season in the NBA. I would rather go after younger players like Demarcus Cousins, Paul George, or Russell Westbrook in the summer of 2018.

Am I the only one who doesn't want a 33 year old LeBron James on the Lakers roster? The Lakers would offer him a max contract when they could use that max contract on a different player. I think it would be a bad idea to give LeBron a max contract when he has so many miles on his body. In the 2018 off-season the Lakers should go after younger players like Demarcus Cousins or Russell Westbrook.
