3 Team Deal

Jazz Get: Randle, Clarkson, Deng
Lakers Get: Dwade and Favors
Bulls Get: Joe Johnson, Boris Diaw

Why Jazz would do it - 2 young players for players that are going to walk in 2018 Free Agency

Why Bulls would do it - Boris Diaw contract is non-guaranteed meaning the trade would save the bulls 13 mil in this years cap that can be used for salary dumps and obtaining assets to help rebuild.

Why Lakers would do it: Remove Deng's contract, if lakers are serious about 2018 Free Agency it doesn't look possible to keep Randle past this year, plus we can make a run for playoffs (lower seed) this year and/or have players to move at deadline.

Both Wade (at this stage) and Favors are injury prone. Maybe Wade but you're giving up Randle and Clarkson for a guy approaching the end of his career and an injury prone big that doesn't stretch the floor too much.

The point of it is to get rid of deng and lure Lebron we aren't rebuilding anymore we have no reason to pay clarkson it would hurt to lose Randle though but I don't know if we will be able to afford him if we want 2 max players.

Lakers Get: D. Cousins, Landry (We are taking his contract, I rather not have him) and #6 Pick

Kings Get: Randle, B. Haywood (Would Release as contract is not guarantee), S. Marion (For Cap, he will retire) and #2, 24, 27, 34

Cavs Get: J. Thompson and Nick Young and a conditional Second Rnd Pick for lakers.

This would allow the lakers to get Cousins. The Kings to get 2 young players and have money in FA to build a team that Coach Karl likes. Cavs may lose Shump and JR Smith to free agency so having "Swaggy P" is a good pick up and they pick up another big to replace Perkins.

Kinda sounds alright. But kupchak said that 3 rookies would be a lot, so 4 would probably be worse

Lakers can get more for J. Hill than that.

There needs to be revisions made to the restricted free agency and the mandatory contact extensions in sports.

I totally understand the concept of restricted free agents from a business point - it helps teams keep players on a specific team. Small markets benefit as they have the right to match an offer if player decided to go elsewhere. I understand.

I also understand that the average and above-average restricted free agent players may benefit as well; due to the other teams having to pay above market value on a restricted free agent (ie Jeremy Lin, Chandler Parsons) in an effort to make the other team not match their offer.

However; restricted free agency has to be illegal, in my non-law experience view point (I'm a numbers guy). The concept of having the ability to force a player to sign an under market value (the tender) which will extend his contact after his contract has ended, seems illegal. Once a player signs the tender he has the ability to negotiate a contract with other teams but only can sign with the other team if the team he signs tender with, doesn't match.

What are your thought?

I don't agree with the franchise Tag in NFL either.

Why trade Julius Randle?

I have seen a lot of trades on this blog that involved Randle, my only question is why?

Yes, I understand a trade of Randle for DeMarcus Cousins, but I also have seen mutiple trades involving average players.

Do we not believe Randle is good based on the limited play last year? Do we predict that he is going to be injury-prone? Were we not happy about this pick last year?

Feel free to shar your thoughts on how you feel about Randle?

Is DaMarcus Cousins worth it?

I think DeMarcus Cousins is the best traditional Center in the League; however, I'm not sold on use picking him up.

As we all know, the game is different from the days of the dominate Center that can post up and slow the game down. We are into a completely different era. An era of the smaller lineups, geared to push the pace, flop and more 3s.

We are in an era of Centers playing the role of traditional Centers, The ideal Power Forwards is a Spot shooter who can rebound and hopefully be able to help out on defense.

I see all of this trade talk for D. Cousins (Heck, I even post a trade) involving Randle, our all of draft picks and J. Clarkson for Cousins, but is he really someone that you go broke for.

If we are going to sell out on any Big, I prefer it would be A. Davis, who I feel is the Perfect Big Man of this Era.

What do you think?

No he is not worth giving up all assets that the Lakers have to get him. He didn't work out with George Karl and I doubt he will work out with Byron Scott as well. Yes Byron preaches defense which Cousins gives but he is not work risking everything for. Lakers do need quality players but they also need to develope young talent. Fact is Kings haven't made the playoffs with Cousins so what's to say Lakers will make the playoffs with him either. I think he will wear out on the Lakers in 2 seasons and in the meantime Okafor will be developing someplace else. Not worth it. Lakers need to draft Okafor/Towns and stick with whoever is available. Plus select the #27 and #34 picks. Lakers will not have first round pick next year so they need to start rebuilding.

Kings ownship won't give up Cousins anyway. They would probably fire George Karl before trading Cousins. For them why give up on a player that wants to be in Sacramento and is his prime.

Why are you so eager to get rid of Randle.

Also, the Kings wouldn't be able to do this trade due to the cap hit.

Plus this trade doesn't effect our cap that much as we don't have to sign Hill back, Randle was the 7th pick last year; so getting the 6th is very close if not more, and Nick Young is only 5 mil year guy which will be less than the cap inflation next yr.

I agree if we can dump Nick Young salary that is a plus, but not at the expense of randle.

As Pelicans GM, do you think Nik Staukas, Nick Young, Jordan Clarkson, #27 Pick for J. Holiday is fair?

I don't think Jeremy Lamb is that valuable.

If kings got #2, Magics got #6 and we got #5 it would make the trade better.

I wouldn't do Vucevic for randle straight up unless I really want to draft russell. You're trading the 2nd pick and Randle. I don't agree.
