Lakers get Kyrie Irving

Celtics get KCP, Lonzo Ball, and the Lakers unprotected 2019 first round pick

This may seem like an underwhelming package for Kyrie, but one should consider that the Celtics only gave up IT, Crowder, Zizic, the Nets pick (Collin Sexton), and a second rounder for Kyrie when he had two years left on his deal. Kyrie only has half a season left on his deal, has continued to get injured, and has been a drama queen in Boston who feuds with the young guys. I'm not sure Kyrie is worth the huge contract he will demand from Boston and there is no guarantee he even stays in Boston.

The Celtics replenish the Nets pick with Lonzo, a new franchise point guard who you can pair with Tatum and Brown. The first from the Lakers more than makes up for the second rounder, and KCP is an expiring contract who will give the Celtics financial flexibility to re-sign guys like Marcus Morris. The C's stay patient and build for the future. This deal also works with Ingram instead of Lonzo, so the Celtics can have their choice between those guys.

Lot of issues with your trade. Celtics can get more for Irving than Lonzo and a 1st. KCP is a salary dump. Second KCP has veto power and would veto the deal. The most important thing. Can you image Magic Johnson and Danny Ainge making a deal that sends Irving to Los Angeles? I don't.

Lakers get Wesley Matthews and Dennis Smith Jr

Mavs get KCP, Lonzo Ball, and the Lakers top 10 protected 2019 first round pick

The Lakers bring in a young guard whose style of play better complements LBJ. Will definitely bring chemistry complications at first but should prove to be a better long term fit. They also upgrade KCP with a better shooter and offensive player in Wes Matthews. Matthews is an expiring contract thus keeping LA's cap space this summer available, the Lakers actually create a little more cap space with this move.

The Mavs bring in an improving shooter and excellent passer in Lonzo. Zo doesn't need to dominate the ball to get assists, thus making him a nice fit alongside Luka Doncic. The team also picks up a draft asset to help build going forward.

Lakers get Allen Crabbe, the Hawks unprotected 2019 first round pick, and the Nets 2019 second round pick

Hawks get Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Brandon Ingram

Nets get Kent Bazemore

The Lakers move two talented young players who have been misfits on their roster. Crabbe is an expiring contract, meaning the Lakers will have even more cap space next summer. The Hawks pick will put the Lakers in the Zion Williamson sweepstakes, and the Nets pick is a solid additional asset. Josh Hart can move into the starting shooting guard role with Crabbe as his backup. Lakers create more cap space and more assets in this deal.

The Hawks unload part of Bazemore's contract with the expiring deal of KCP and they bring in a legit young talent to complement Trae Young in BI. Those two would serve as the foundation of the Hawks going forward. BI should thrive from being in a situation where he can play a big offensive role.

The Nets typically look for convenient trades to upgrade the roster. This deal costs them a second round pick, and they turn Allen Crabbe into a younger and better Bazemore. Kent has another year left on his deal, and will come off the books in 2019 when Brooklyn should be in position to actually attract talent.

Crabbe has a players option that will be exercised by him so his contract is not expiring. Williamson is projected to be much better than Ingram so Hawks wouldn't do that. Lakers will only trade Ingram if they get all star level talent in return.

Lakers get Kawhi Leonard and Patty Mills

Spurs get Luol Deng, Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, the 25th overall pick, and the Lakers unprotected 2019 first

It'd be tough to convince anyone to take on Deng's awful contract, which is why I have the Lakers giving essentially all of their young talent to the Spurs in this deal. This is a steep price to pay, but worth it if they have a commitment from LeBron James and Paul George.

Lakers get Jahlil Okafor

76ers get D'Angelo Russell

It was no secret on draft night that Sixers GM Sam Hinkie would have gladly selected D'Angelo Russell had he been available. Instead, the team had to take a big man: the one position they were actually okay at. The team has a budding defensive star at the position in Nerlens Noel and a talented yet always injured Joel
Embiid. The team took Jahlil Okafor, who has put up impressive scoring numbers (18 ppg) but isn't very efficient and has been a liability on defense. Russell has also been a sub-par defender and is yet to have earned coach Byron Scott's trust in his convoluted Kobe Bryant dominant offense. The truth is, Russell would be a better fit in Philly. He'd be allowed to run a fast pace offense where he can utilize his natural play making ability and make decisions with the ball in his hands. Russell wouldn't have to compete with other ball dominant players for touches either. It might not be pretty at first for Russell, but he'd be getting meaningful development in the NBA and he'd be learning how to carry a team. The 76ers could build around this Russell-Noel duo.

As mentioned above, Russell is yet to have earned Byron Scott's trust and therefore isn't playing big minutes. The team has struggled a lot this year, and they could be looking for a higher impact rookie. Okafor already has elite footwork for a 7-footer and can definitely command attention in the low post, which would create shots for LA's guards. Okafor could end up being the next great Lakers big man. He isn't a perfect fit however as both he and PF Julius Randle are poor defenders. Perhaps a deal for a better front court defender will be made down the line. Ballsack. But the Lakers improve now with the big man and they certainly would have a player to build around. The Lakers were going to take Okafor up until 48 hours before the draft when they had a sudden change of heart for Russell.

Great for Philly but Kobe will realistically retire at the end of the season and they will push the pace with randle Russell and Clarkson. Also okafor is not a fit for the Lakers with randle because we would have absolutely 0 rim protection and very subpar interior defence.

It's going to take the second pick and Randle or Clarkson to get Cousins
