A couple of deals i think the Lakers could do to generate a more balanced roster, with much more consistency for some players in their roles.

1. Kyle Kuzma and Pick #22 to Portland for Robert Covington. Gets Portland a 1st Rounder this year, and some wing scoring.

2. Montrezl Harrell (Opts into player option, won't get much more than his $9.7m option elsewhere) to Houston for Avery Bradley and Danuel House.

3. Sign Dwight Howard with the Tax Payers MLE, which is approx $5.8m next season.

4. Re-Sign Dennis Schroder - Not really sure what his contract will end up being, but as they have his full bird rights, they can cross the salary cap to re-sign him. I'm estimating a 3 Year, $52m deal. Will likely be more.

5. Re-sign Ben McLemore and Jared Dudley to a vet min.

6. Sign Furkan Korkmaz for shooting, on a vet min.

7. Guarantee Alfonzo McKinnie's contract at approx $1.7m

Thank god the Luol Deng stretched contract is off the books next year. Can't wait to see a little more room for contracts.

Roster
PG: Schroder - Bradley
SG: KCP - Korkmaz - McLemore
SF: LeBron - House - McKinnie
PF: AD - Covington - Dudley
C: Dwight - Gasol

Harrell will probably opt out. I know people here are talking about Harrell opting in then trading him. That's not happening. Schroeder was offered 4 years $82.50M and rejected it. He wants 5 years $125M from the Lakers or 4 years $100M from someone else. Someone will overpay and the Lakers will lose him for nothing. Korkmaz can get more than the vet minimum. Howard can be had for around $3M. It's a 50/ 50 chance him coming back cause I don't see Drummond resigning.

Lakers moves going forward

Sign:
Kawhi Leonard - 4 year Max deal
Quinn Cook - 2 year minimum deal
Danny Green - Room Exception

Re-sign:
Rajon Rondo, JaVale McGee, Tyson Chandler, Alex Caruso and Johnathan Williams to min deals

If they're bought out:
Sign Andre Iguodala and Kyle Korver to vet minimum.

Lineup

PG: Rajon Rondo/Quinn Cook/Alex Caruso
SG: Kawhi Leonard/Danny Green/Troy Daniels
SF: LeBron James/Andre Iguodala/Kyle Korver
PF: Kyle Kuzma/Jared Dudley/Johnathan Williams
C: Anthony Davis/JaVale McGee/Tyson Chandler
TW Players: SG Talen Horton-Tucker, SG Zach Norvell Jr.

Very solid playoff lineup of:
Rondo, Cook, Kawhi, Danny Green, LBJ, IGGY, Kuzma, AD, McGee

I see this as best case and by no means am i suggesting this is how it will go.

Lakers Offseason

Trade: Brandon Bass and Pick 32 to the Minnesota Timberwolves for 2 Future Second Round Picks.

Nick Young to the Denver Nuggets for a future 2nd Round Pick.

Draft: Personally I think the balls are going to drop in a way that has the Lakers pick drop to 3rd. So with the 3rd Pick the Los Angeles Lakers select. Jaylen Brown from the University of California, Berkeley.

And with the acquired 9th Pick, the Los Angeles Lakers select. Ivan Rabb from the University of California, Berkeley.

Free Agency:

Re-Sign
Jordan Clarkson: 3 Year, $24 Million
Roy Hibbert: 2 Year, $11 Million
Metta World Peace: 1 Year, $1.5 Million
Marcelo Huertas: 1 Year, $950k
Tarik Black: 1 Year, $950k

Sign
Kevin Durant: 4 Year, $114 Million
Hassan Whiteside: 3 Year, $44 Million
Ryan Anderson: 3 Year, $28 Million
Jimmer Fredette: 1 Year, $950k

Lineup
PG: D'Angelo Russell, Lou Williams Marcelo Huertas
SG: Jordan Clarkson, Jaylen Brown, Jimmer Fredette
SF: Kevin Durant, Anthony Brown, Metta World Peace
PF: Julius Randle, Ryan Anderson, Larry Nance Jr
C: Hassan Whiteside, Roy Hibbert, Tarik Black

Fire Coach Byron Scott and a majority of his coaching staff. Hire Tom Thibedeau along with a new suitable coaching staff

Head Coach: Tom Thibedeau
Associate Head Coach: Scott Brooks
Assistant Coach: Brian Shaw
Assistant Coach: Ron Adams
Assistant Coach: Mark Madsen

With the salary cap projected to increase from approx $70 Million this past year to approx $90 Million next year, this is a legitimate option for the Lakers. I'm not saying that it is the most realistic option, because obviously I'm not an NBA general manager so I can't necessarily come up with great scenarios for teams like a real life GM could. But they are within a certain range of realism that I think could give a good indication on what the Lakers could be worth to free agents next season.

Disagree with so many things:
1- Signing Ryan Anderson and making Nance a reserve.
2- Resigning Roy and making Black a reserve.
3- you can't trade Brandon Bass because he's a Free agent.
4 - Whee's Ivann Rabb?
5- Anthony Brown isn't qualified to back up KD imo.

Durant won't sign if the roster is like that. He will want to see all stars on the rosters. Also he can only sign for 4 years $88M unless sign and trade which won't happen. With the amount of interest that Roy Hibbert will get I doubt he will sign for that cheap.

Definitely prefer Ingram or Simmons over jaylen brown

2.) 04 Mar 2016 21:19:49
They would be better getting brown because he is a shooting guard not a forward like Brandon Ingram

3.) 05 Mar 2016 01:57:03
14- I believe that Ingram could play at SG.

The Mavs need to adress lack of depth with their big men quickly. It doesn't need to be a major acquisition, but they do need to bring in someone to provide some energy off the bench.

My Suggested Trade:
Mavericks Get: Ed Davis, Jordan Clarkson
Lakers Get: Raymond Felton, Dwight Powell

Lineups

Lakers:
PG: Felton, Lin, Price, Nash(Retired)
SG: Kobe, Ellington, Henry (INJ)
SF: Johnson, Young
PF: Boozer, Kelly, Powell, Randle (INJ)
C: Hill, Sacre

Mavericks:
PG: Rondo, Barea, Clarkson
SG: Ellis, Harris, Ledo
SF: Parsons, Jefferson
PF: Dirk, Aminu, Villenuava
C: Chandler, Davis, Smith

1.) Worst trade ever. just why.
