No way we trade Randle and Deng for Gay. Gay would just opt out at end of the year and then we loose Randle for nothing.

Regarding rumors, Lakers are not trading Russell for a top 5 pick in one of the weakest drafts. That rumor was just an opinion.
P. S: I find it funny how Philly fans think Okafor is a better player or has more value than Russell.

If I were the GM of the Lakers, I will not sign anybody this offseason or the following offseason and just let the young guys develop. I see us winning 30-35 games next season and 40-45 the following season.
By the 2018-2019 offseason, our young guys would have already shown the potential they have and would be experienced enough to compete for championships. I would sign Paul George (he's from LA and can be the next superstar to bring a championship to LA) and Demarcus Cousins (has already stated how he loves the young core the lakers have in place)
Lakers 2018/ 2019 starting 5:
PG: Russell
SG: PG
SF: Ingram
PF: Randle
C: Cousins
Of course a lot can change by then like Pacers becoming contenders which would make PG want to stay in Indiana, Cousins gets traded to a contender making him want to stay with that team, and worst case scenario, all our young guys becoming total busts and garbage players which would be a complete turn off to all future free agents and can push our rebuild back many, many years.

I find it funny how @Mikerockwell talks about the lakers so much and calls their players garbage or busts lol how about you worry about your Knicks trying to figure out a way to get rid of Carmelo and let the future "superstar" (overrated) take over the team. You guys have no past, present, and your future is still questionable.
