Do sign and trades allow 1yr deals? If so

Lakers-Thunder

Lakers- George

Thunder- Kcp (1yr big money deal)

Lakers do a deal to create some more space, obviously they will do it after signing a star (Cousins?, James? while Okc take a player who can help for year and there comes a huge expiring deals of Kcp and Anthony.

I saw an earlier post regarding this matter (USA)

The Lakers already have cap space so unless other players that are not free agents are included Lakers wouldn't be creating cap space. All a sign and trade would do is that the Lakers would hold PG13 bird rights. So he would be eligible to sign a 5 year deal with the Thunder then get traded to the Lakers so he has a 5 year instead of a 4 year. KCP would be eligible for a 4 year deal and can get traded to the Thunder without worrying about cap space cause the Thunder are over the cap. If PG13 informs the Thunder he is signing with the Lakers this would definitely be something the Thunder might want to do. The key though is that the Lakers don't give up draft picks to do this like the Steve Nash situation.

donadamsky- Paul George's bird rights are not lost cause of trades. He isn't eligible for a super max though. All a sign a trade will do for Paul George is get a 5th year from the Lakers instead of 4. Most teams get draft picks as compensation which the Lakers are very limited in that.
