I don't think you realize how good of a Squad we have currently:
D'angelo Russell- Elite scorer who can score from anywhere and is a excellent passer and is improving as a Defender. He gives every opposing point problems due to size and ability to post up.
Second half season stats-
17 ppg 6 apg 5 rpg

Brandon Ingram- improving slasher and ball handler who can pull up anywhere from inside at the arc and is very good spotting up has teh ability to become a all around star- Second half od season stats--
14 ppg 4 rpg 3 apg 47% Fg

Julius Randle- 6"9 Train who can push the ball and has handles of a guard and improved very much on his MR game and showed signs of his 3 point game during end of season he can be the Glue for the team and he is improving as a defender but is very good off the switch to guards he can become a nightmare for any team once he gets it going. Lamar odom type player
Stats- 13 ppg 8 rpg 4 apg

Ivica Zubac- A modern Center who can stretch the floor inside the arc and is a double double Machine and is a elite blocker already- He can become the most solid center in the league if he really masters that hook and mid range game.

(Now if you add a Lonzo Ball on this you get a guard who can put it all together with his vision and ability to pass very well
I don't like him i'd prefer Josh jackson who is a elite passer as well as a elite defender)
Philly is the only other team that can really match this Team IF embiid stays healthy otherwise its a no brainer

This team presently constructed is about a year away from making the playoffs. It is a star or 2 away from being a contender. When you say that Philly is the only team that matches this team. Yes if you mean prospects.

You are using the word "elite" very, very loosely.
James Harden is an elite scorer. Chris Paul is an elite passer.
D'Angelo Russell is not an elite scorer, especially shooting 40% from the field. Josh Jackson is NOT an elite passer. A good passer for his position? Yes. So is Randle.

I think some fans are overrating these players. Maybe it's the age/ 2000s kids that are so enamored with having young players, that you guys are overrating this core. At best, Clarkson is a 6th man. Randle is a better passing Zbo, Russell is an all star for a few times. Ingram is the only player with superstar potential. He's who you build around. Magic and Pelinka have it right by making 2 and Ingram untouchable. Why fans want to salvage the limited potential of Russell and Randle over Paul George iamuses me. Neither Randle or Russell would be top 10 in this draft.

And in regards to the 40% shooting, at the position that fans glamour him at, SG, and the same stat line fans throw out (post all star), he shot 42%. 42% for a shooting guard is not elite once so ever. I can say, Russell has offensive potential but I see poor mans James Harden in him. Very poor man James Harden. Harden gives you more passing, better playmaking, smarter offensive IQ in basket attacking and knowing when to pass, and better speed that allows him to score quicker. Russell can't amount to that. Maturity will play a huge role. I don't hate Russell, I just know potential. He's not worth keeping over 2-way Paul George.

I think the idea is why trade for PG when he will come next year for free. Adding him without sending out assets is a win win. You could trade them later for another star.
