If Magic truly wants to rebuild around Ingram then he should surround him with long athletic versatile 2 way players that are fit to play positionless basketball.

1. Lakers get #5, #10 picks and waive Aaron Afflalo

Kings get Clarkson and Zubac

2. Lakers get #3 pick

76ers get Russell

3. Lakers get Kristaps Porzingis and Melo

Knicks get Deng, Randle and #10 pick

4. Lakers get Brook Lopez

Nets get Mozgov, the 28th pick, Nuggets 2018 and Bulls 2019 second rounders

Lakers draft Josh Jackson (2), De'Aaron Fox (3), and Jonathon Isaac (5).

We go into 2018 free agency with about $74 million to spend when Melo opts out.

• Sign Paul George and Demarcus Cousins each to the max 4 years $130 million.
• Sign Cory Joseph to 3 years $30 million.
• Sign Lance Stephenson to the midlevel exception.
• Resign Ennis and Robinson to the minimum.

Lakers' 2018-19 lineup:

Lakers are going to get a better deal from sixers kings will want more and no way do you take melo cause once he is lakets he will want stay.

Carmelo will not accept a trade to a Lakers team with 3 rookies on it plus having Porzingis come with in the deal. If Porzingis and Anthony aren't working now how will it work with the Lakers? Trade 2 and 4 have been rumored. Doubt either happens however Lakers fans should pray trade 4 happens or else it will be harder to get George and Cousins.

Finally we're getting a comment thread going, its been a while.

Lakefront - I'd say trades 2 and 4 are actually more likely to happen than not.

Dennisdeman - Sixers will want Russell because of his AAU days with Simmons. Kings said they're willing to trade #5 and #10 for Phillys #3 because they want De'Aaron Fox. If the Lakers pick up Fox then the Kings would want to consolidate their picks for young talent with potential. The Kings' rebuild gets a jumpstart by adding Clarkson and Zubac. We could always sweeten the pot by allowing the Kings the right to swap 1st rounders with us in 2019 and 2020. I would rather have Melo's contract for a year then Deng's for 2, especially if it allows us to upgrade Randle for Porzingis.

Citydude - if Melo were to accept a trade, most believe its going to be to LA, Chicago, or Cleveland. Melo isn't competing for a playoff spot with the Knicks anyways and might accept the trade to get rid of the drama and start fresh somewhere he already lives during the summer. Melo and Porzingis are good friends. That's not to say they're an all-star duo, but by trading them both the Knicks can reset their culture and rebuild. I don't expect that tandem to excel in LA, but the trade is more geared for phase 2 of the rebuild which is 2018 free agency. A team with $75 million in cap space with a young core of Ingram, Porzingis, Fox, Jackson, Isaac, and Nance Jr will attract multiple top free agents. I agree that trades 2 and 4 are the likely ones out of the group and that we need to rid ourselves of at least 1 of Deng or Mozgov this offseason.

The only way I see Carmelo wanting to come to the Lakers is in 2018 if he opts out and if Lebron James opts out then both Carmelo and Lebron come to the Lakers as a duo with maybe Dwayne Wade. Now each of them would have to take a pay cut plus Mozgov and Deng would have to be off the books. Maybe have Paul George and Brook Lopez already there from trade and resigned making a super team. Has to be appealing to players looking to win championships. We could still have the young core as well.

LeBron and the banana boat club aren't joining the Lakers. Melo will be increasingly willing to accept a trade as his relationship with the Knicks continues to crash. Our young core has been built off of drafting the best available for the past 3 years so we need to form their identity.

I think all the trades are trades that can be made just to many pick for Lopez two picks at the most and not zu block maybe add a pick to clarkson trade .
