The forums have been boring the past several days, so here's another Go Big or Go Home dream scenario where we capitalize on our young core's potential to trade for all stars. The league is transitioning to positionless basketball, so we need a team that can constantly switch on defense and spread the floor. Start by picking up Black and Nwaba's option, as well as having Young opt in.

Trade Clarkson, Houston's 27th pick, and Denver's 2018 2nd rounder to the 76ers for their 1st rounder this year. This clears up $11,562,500 million off our salary cap and gives us a potential top 4 pick to pair with Mozgov to any team willing to take on the salary, clearing another $15,280,000 before the start of the next free agency. By trading the 2 bench players we save a total of $85,500,000 over 3 years.

Trade top 3 pick, Nance Jr, Brewer, Deng, and Bulls 2019 2nd Rounder for Jimmy Butler, before Dwades opt in date this summer.

Trade Russell, Black, Young for Paul George.

Trade Ingram and Randle for Demarcus Cousins.

Resign Ennis, Robinson, and World Peace for cheap (current contracts combined = $3,694,742).

Those players' contracts combined (using Ennis, Robinson, & World Peace's current contracts) total $62,358,608. With the salary cap expected to be about $102 million, we would have $35,563,317 to spend in free agency after accounting for $815,615 per open roster spot up to 13 players.

Paul George has openly stated that he'd like to play with another LA native in Gordon Hayward, whose max contract would be $30.1 million. That signing would give us another $4.5 million to spend on a center, I'd choose Nene who's doing good on the Rocket's bench.

This team would include 4 potential all stars, all in their prime, all whom pride themselves on being 2-way players. They'd be championship contenders and possibly the best defensive team in the league. I look forward to reading your comments.

Hayward - Ennis
Butler - Nwaba
George - World Peace
Cousins - Robinson
Zubac - Nene

Not a chance the Sixers do that deal. Actually, none of those teams would make those deals.

We've had this discussion before Carl and everytime you just say no but never add any input. So once again I'll ask you, what trades would you recommend for Mozgov and Deng? Philly has stated that they don't want a PG, because of Ben Simmons and their main target is a starting SG. If Fultz, Ball, Jackson, Tatum, and Monk are off the board by the time of their pick then they would take that trade. A proven combo guard in Jordan Clarkson, an immediate 1st round pick in a deep draft, and a 2nd round pick for next offseason makes a lot of sense.

As for the other trades, I think the Paul George one is plausible closer to the trade deadline because D-lo and Turner could be their foundation for their future and the other 2 are expiring contracts. The salaries match up to be able to execute the trade during the season.

The Demarcus Cousins trade is logical for the Pelicans, it's less than what they gave up for him and they can guarentee they'll have Ingram and Randle for at least 5+ years compared to Boogies 1. A starting 5 of Holiday, Moore, Ingram, Randle, and Davis would be a significant upgrade, gives them a lot of cap room to go after a SG in free agency, also allows them to truly play Alvin Gentry's system and would be in the top 10 defensively.

The Butler trade is the least logical out of the 4, but there's been talk (out of Chicago, because we all know you don't believe any reporter that's not living in that city) that the Bulls will look to rebuild after a 1st round playoff exit and would need to trade Butler before Dwades able to opt in for another year, thus clearing at least $20+ mil off the books. A top 3 pick, Nance Jr., an expiring veteran contract, and their 2nd round pick in a rebuild year could be enough for them to take back fan favorite Deng to be their veteran leader for 3 years.

horrible depth. Wouldn't really want Hayward at point either.

The league has been moving to positionless basketball for more than half a decade. Hayward, Butler, and George have phenomenal bball IQ and are all good enough passers to not need a true point guard. A team with those 4 all stars could easily attract veteran ring chasers to add depth (ex: Ty Lawson, Jason Terry, David West, Paul Gasol, Andrew Bogut)
